NO....I didn't find any skeletons....
I did find a box,
A box I had forgotten about...
This box contained some things my Mother had gave me a while back.
Things that I had forgotten about.....
This box of things,
Things that I had forgotten about.....
Things that had belonged to my Nana,
Nana was my maternal Grandmother.
I think I'm a lot like my Nana.
I like these things too...
She collected things she loved.
I do too!
She sewed.
I do too!
She loved to read.
I do too!
She quilted.
I do too!
I think I could get carried away........
So.............How about you?
Are you like my Nana too?
If anyone out there knows anything about this little guy, Please tell me!
I've been lookin' for information and have not had any luck...
Either way I'll be keepin' him!
He's family, Y'all understand...
That's why I decided to let him out of the closet today!
Hey Skippy!
Come on up here and meet your Brother......
What's his name?...
Y'all know where this is headed......
Tisha
Name him Mookie the Monkey!!!

I think I might have his brother....I was given him when I was little, and in the hospital by a coreman...mine is called Chico...and he is precious to me..kept me comforted when I was recovering from heart surgery...1954...
ReplyDeleteThanks Dani,
ReplyDeleteMy Mamma tells me that it belonged to her brother and that best she could remember, he got it sometime around the early 50's. There is no markings on him at all and he's in remarkable shape...
Thanks Nana for not letting him play with it..It sure made for a nice Vintage Toy!

Wow, now those are timeless treasures and precious heirlooms. Did your monkey ever have cymbols or a drum between his hands? Hope you find info on him:)

They sure don't make toys like those anymore! What characters!! I'm glad you let them out of the box and are enjoying the connections to your Nana! Treasures to be cherished.

I'm not sure, but I think if you go to this link an' scroll down, this might be the same monkey or it might give you some kinda' lead to finding your monkey. Good luck in your search. Our loved treasures are family, aren't they?

Nothing like finding a box of old forgotten toys to bring back the kid in us. Some of those toys must be valuable by now. They are all in great shape. Good luck in finding more information on the monkey. Thanks for joining my blog. I just joined yours in return. JB
